We have often known and heard of students responding with either “Yes Sir/Yes Ma’am” or “Present Sir/Present Ma’am” to their attendance call at schools. We ourselves have been a part of it at some time during our schooling.
However, there is something very unique and motivating that the government of Madhya Pradesh is now trying to introduce. School students in Madhya Pradesh will now respond with “Jai Hind!” as their response to their attendance calls!
According to Madhya Pradesh government, this practice will help increase the feeling of nationalism and patriotism among school kids, thus establishing national pride among kids at a very early age. The announcement to implement this practice was made by Madhya Pradesh’s education department minister Vijay Shah.
The government is implementing this practice initially in MP’s Satna district on an experimental basis from October 1. Then, from November 1, this practice will be implemented across all schools of Madhya Pradesh.
This indeed looks like an innovative effort to nurture the sentiment of national pride in young minds.
