Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to meet the party leaders from Telangana on Thursday. He had scheduled the meeting for the day before leaving for Bengaluru to meet former prime minister Deve Gowda and Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy to congratulate them on their victory in the by-elections.
The Telangana TDP chief L Ramana, besides some other leaders, are arriving in Amaravati with the candidates’ list for the elections. The party which had tied-up with the Congress there was given 14 Assembly seats in alliance. Ramana is coming to Amaravati with the names of the probable candidates for these 14 seats.
Chandrababu Naidu and the Telangana leaders would be discussing the party manifesto for the elections, besides the election campaign that should start soon. Ramana is requesting Chandrababu Naidu to address at least three to four election meetings in Telangana, particularly in the constituencies where the party is contesting. They are also requesting Chandrababu Naidu to invite Congress president Rahul Gandhi for those meetings to boost the party’s electoral prospects.
The TRS chief had reportedly told the police officials to keep the infamous Note for Vote case ready to trouble Chandrababu Naidu if he steps in the state for election campaign. The TDP supremo too had this information and is worried about the police case, it is said. However, since Rahul Gandhi would also be around, the TDP leadership is of the opinion that the TRS may not take this extreme step to act on the case and trouble Chandrababu Naidu when Rahul Gandhi is around.
It is to be seen if Chandrababu Naidu decides to address election meetings and the TRS government acts on the Note for Vote case. The TRS is said to be toeing the line of historical saying that “everything is fine in love and war.”
