Petrol, diesel prices fell again on Friday as international crude oil continued its downward trend on Friday after a pullback earlier in the week. Fuel prices were cut by 39-45 paise per litre in major cities of the country today. After the recent price revision, petrol in the national capital is sold at Rs 70.92, down 40 paise per litre compared to Rs 71.32 on Thursday. Diesel in Delhi is sold at Rs 65.55, down 41 paise against yesterday.
In Mumbai, petrol is sold at Rs 76.50 today, as compared to Rs 76.90 on Thursday and diesel became cheaper by 43 paise to Rs 68.59.
In other metro cities like Chennai and Kolkata, petrol is sold at Rs 73.57 and Rs 72.97 respectively while diesel in these cities is priced at Rs 69.19 and Rs 67.28 respectively.
In Noida, petrol became cheaper by 21 paise and diesel became cheaper by 25 paise to Rs 70.82 and Rs 64.89 respectively.
International crude oil prices fell on Friday, pulled down by OPEC’s decision to delay a final decision on output cuts, awaiting support from non-OPEC heavyweight Russia. International Brent crude oil futures fell below $60 per barrel early in Asian trade and was trading at $59.73 per barrel as of 9.15 am, down 33 cents from their last close. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $51.24 per barrel, down 25 cents, or 0.5 percent.
Crude prices have fallen by over 30 per cent since early October when it touched levels of $86 per barrel.
