Rajasthani Baati

  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon thymol seeds
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1/2 cup melted ghee
  • 4 dash baking powder

How to make Rajasthani Baati

  • Step 1 To make this delicious traditional recipe, take a glass bowl and add wheat flour, baking powder and 2 pinches of salt in it. Add 6 tbsp of ghee and mix well until it resembles bread crumbs. Add the thymol seeds and 1/2 cup of water. Knead well to make a stiff yet pliable dough. Now, take small portions of the dough and make medium sized balls. Place them on a baking tray lined with sheet.
  • Step 2 Place the tray in a pre-heated oven at 200C/400 F and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until they start to turn light-brown in colour. Bake the baatis at a lower temperature for another 15 to 30 minutes or until crispy and fully cooked. Once done, remove the baatis from the oven and soak them in the remaining ghee for around 30-40 minutes. Remove and serve at once with dal and choorma.
