A 12-year old girl named Akshaya donated 25% of her heart surgery fund for the welfare of Kerala flood victims. She was moved by seeing the sufferings of Keralites affected by floods.Akshaya has been suffering from a congenital heart disease which can be cured with a surgery. Her friends had collected the amount through crowd funding on social media platforms. Though hailing from a poor background, she did not hesitate to donate for people who lost their houses in the flood.She felt that Kerala needs help at the earliest and donated Rs 5,000 from the operation fund of Rs 20,000. Rs 2.5 lakh has to be collected before November for the operation but she could garner only Rs 20,000 so far. She is awaiting her second and final operation this November after which she can lead a normal life.She added that she expects Kerala to come to her help by November. Akshaya lost her father in an accident six years ago.
